Rates

For the first time in seven years, we have raised our rates for both insurance and private pay clients.  Clients with insurance are unlikely to see much of a difference in “out of pocket” costs; our contracts with each insurance panel specify the allowable rate for each procedure or service.  We agree to accept, as payment in full, the amount your insurance allows; so even though we are changing our rates, the amount your insurance allows may stay the same (or even decrease) in 2019.

If you do not have insurance, or cannot afford our private-pay rates, therapy from one of our Licensed Professional Counselors in Training is an excellent option.  LPC-ITs have completed their training, passed the National Counselor Exam and must then complete 3,000 hours of supervised counseling to become fully Licensed Professional Counselors. They have years of experience working with clients and are under the direct supervision of our team of seasoned, licensed professional therapists.  LPC-ITs charge on a sliding scale and according to each client’s situation; the fees listed below are average rates.

* Licensed Professional Counselors in Training charge on a sliding scale for their individual and couple work.

** Insurance usually allows for one hour, per client, per day.  That means that a maximum of two hours, per day, can be billed to insurance, if both partners are covered; the rest of the hours, for the remainder of the day, must be private pay.

***Most insurance companies will not pay for an Alcohol/Drug assessment, especially if it is court ordered.
The report is billed separately at $250.00 per hour.  The $200.00 fee is for the office visit.

Couples’ Sessions:

When couples are seen, we need to create an account for both partners. This allows us to use both partners’ benefits for billing purposes.  Most couple’s sessions last at least an hour and a half. If only one partner is in network, we have two options, keep the sessions to one hour only or have one of the partners private-pay for time that exceeds the first hour.  Couples pay only one copayment, coinsurance or minimum, average payment for unsatisfied deductible amounts per session.

Gottman Couples’ Therapy:

Gloria Bannasch is Wisconsin’s only Certified Gottman Therapist.  To learn more about the Gottman Method, Gottman Assessment, Gottman Therapy or Gottman Couples’ Workshops, go to Gloria’s dedicated website:  https://couplesworkshopswi.com.  Gloria’s next Art and Science of Love Workshop for Couples, will be held the weekend before Valentine’s Day, February 9th and 10th.  You may register on the website or by calling our office. There is no group sharing. This workshop is suggested for all couples entering couples’ therapy or who are already attending couples’ therapy.  It is also perfect for couples who are living together, engaged, or for couples who desire a deeper connection. CEUS are available for therapists, social workers, and psychologists. The Assessment (The Gottman Relationship Checkup), The Art and Science of Love Workshop for Couples and 9 couples’ sessions are the gold-standard for care.

Assessment in Gottman Couples’ Therapy

If we don’t know where we’re going, driving faster won’t get us there sooner.

The assessment process involves 4 parts:

  1. The Initial Couples’ Session - We ask about the history of the relationship
  2. One, 45-Minute Individual Session for Each Partner - We ask about family of origin, trauma, and previous relationships
  3. The Gottman Relationship Checkup - Couples take this 90-minute, online assessment to obtain an overall view of every area of their relationship
  4. The Results Session - Gloria discusses the analysis of the Gottman Relationship Checkup and identifies areas of strength, challenge and targets areas where corrective work is needed.  The Results session usually lasts for 1.5 hours.

Marathon Sessions

For professionals, clients who travel, or for clients who want to do two months’ work in a two-three day period, we offer Marathon sessions.  These sessions are typically four to six hours per length per day (with breaks and meals spread throughout).

  • Marathon sessions are appropriate for:
  1.    Couples who want Gottman Method Couples’ Therapy and who do not have a Certified Gottman Therapist nearby
  2.   Professional people with busy schedules, for whom attending weekly sessions would be difficult
  3.   Couples who want to make progress quickly

  • Marathon sessions are not appropriate for:
  1.   Couples who are coping with an active addiction to alcohol or other drugs; we love clients in recovery
  2.   Couples who have had serious violence in their relationship; if threats of possible violence have been made, or if either partner is afraid that violence may occur
  3.   If either partner has a current, serious, untreated mental illness - This does not include mental illness which is under control with medication and/or other treatment.
  4.   If there is an undisclosed, current affair, that a partner is unwilling to disclose to their partner; therapy cannot take place until the partner is willing to disclose and discuss the affair during the session, with the other partner present.
  5.   If either partner is currently experiencing suicidal or homicidal thoughts, or has a history of serious harm, inflicted self or others

  • For couples with insurance (for which Gloria is in network) insurance pays for the first two hours of the session each day.  The rest of the session will be billed at the private pay rate of $200.00 per hour.

  1. For 6-hour sessions:  A $500.00 deposit is required to book a 1-Day Session; $1000.00 deposit is required for a 2-Day Session and $15oo.oo for a 3-Day Session.  Cancellations prior to 30 days before the appointment is scheduled, will receive a refund, minus $500.00. No refunds will be given if the session is cancelled less than 30 days prior to the appointment.
  2. For 4-hour sessions:  A $400.00 deposit is required to schedule a 1-Day Session; a $800.00 deposit is required for a 2-Day Session and $1200.00 is required for a 3-Day Session.  Cancellations prior to 30 days before the scheduled appointment will receive a refund, minus $400.00. If cancellation occurs less than 30 days before the session, no refund will be given.
  3. Marathon sessions may be rescheduled one time; however, the new date must be within 3 months of the original date.
  • Sessions last 4-6 hours; for 1 day, 2 days or 3 days.  1-Day sessions are appropriate for premarital counseling, or couples with a few minor issues to work thorough.  For all other couples, 2 or 3-Day sessions are recommended. Compare our rates to those at the Gottman Institute.
